RUSSOFT business mission to India results (March 19-20, 2018)

On March 19-20, 2018, a business mission of Russian IT companies was held in New Delhi organized by RUSSOFT with the support of the Ministry of Economic Development of the Russian Federation and the Trade Mission of the Russian Federation in India; and with the support of the Confederation of Chambers of Commerce of India (FICCI), and the IT Services Association of India NASSCOM.

The purpose of the business mission was to organize interaction between Russian software companies and Indian entrepreneurs to enter the Indian IT market and form partnerships with Indian companies for joint activity in Indian and global market.

The delegation included representatives from 13 Russian IT companies (7 of them are RUSSOFT members): Bee Pitron, Scout, Geoscan, ITERA Technological Association, T8, Promt, Cybrus, Automatica S, Tenso M, GCPhotonics, OTEC, SPIRIT DSP, RATEK.

During the business mission, with the support of the Trade Mission of the Russian Federation in India and with the participation of the Deputy Minister of Economic Development - Andrei Gruzdev, was organized a meeting with the asset of the Confederation of Chambers of Commerce of India (FICCI). Then, with the support of the Bee Pitron representatives in India, a meeting at the office of the National Association of IT Service Companies of India NASSCOM was organized, as well as a meeting at the Trade Mission of the Russian Federation in India. In addition, participants held a number of individual meetings with potential customers and representatives of the business community of India.

Participants of the business mission shared their views, overall focusing on the positive outcome of the work.

As noted by Andrey Trofimov, the development director of the SCAUT SC, the goal of participation in the business mission was achieved: "it was possible to get acquainted with two potential partners and our communication is ongoing".

Alexei Semenov, president of Geoscane Group, said that "during the business mission, agreements on the implementation of joint projects were reached with four Indian companies, one of which has a representative office in Moscow. Based on the results of the talks, an additional business trip to India was organized by the Geoscani Group from 26 to 30 March to present products and services of the company. On the territory of the country there are prospects for the development of services that can solve cadastral tasks and services, calculating the volume of mining of coal mines. "

Alexey Zhukovsky, Senior Manager for corporate clients at SIBRUS, also shared his impressions: "This was our first visit to India, and assistance from RUSSOFT was very useful. The results were better than we expected. "

One of the most significant results of the business mission was the signing of the Memorandum of Cooperation between RUSSOFT and NASSCOM, which is an important stage in the development and strengthening of business and technology cooperation between countries in the IT field (Read more: http://russoft.org/docs/?doc=3909).

The RUSSOFT business mission showed that India and Russia are interested in cooperation to create joint software and hardware solutions for both India's IT market and the countries of Africa and West Asia. This is evidenced by the overall positive attitude during the events, the number of agreements concluded, and the fact that business contacts between business mission participants and potential partners continued right after the end of the business mission.

Following the results of the business mission, RUSSOFT plans:

  • To develop partnership relations with Vnesheconombank and Indian company SREI Infrastructure Finance Ltd in order to provide them with financing for the implementation of joint projects between Russian and Indian companies to localize and promote products and services from Russia in India;
  • To implement the project of creation a representative RUSSOFT office in India and prepare a plan for its work for the current year;
  • At this stage involve companies to participate in Indian tenders, which can be supported by the emerging contacts.


Summing up, Valentin Makarov, President of RUSSOFT, said:
