A Novosibirsk-based Russian company called OCSiAl has joined global unicorns in a newly published ranking by Crunchbase, a leading international database on investments in innovative companies across the world, Firrma.ru reported.
The Crunchbase Unicorn Leaderboard lists private companies that each raised investment at a valuation of $1bn or more. The list features 496 unicorns across the globe with an aggregate valuation of about $1.8 trillion which have attracted a total of $370+bn in investment.

OCSiAl is one of the current global leaders in the development of innovative technologies for the manufacture of single-walled carbon nanotubes (SWCNTs). Branded “Tuball”, the OCSiAl SWCNTs are widely used as additive for most of the materials known in industry.

It was Rusnano, Russia’s government-run nanotech giant, that became the first external investor in the Siberian company back in 2013. OCSiAl has raised an estimated $200m from other domestic and international investors since then.
