Russian software sales grow in March as coronavirus leads to teleworking

Software sales jumped in Russia in March, reports Cnews.ru citing representatives of the IT company Syssoft. The increase was caused by the need to switch to remote working due to the pandemic.

Sales of communication and remote access products, tools for software development, and software for dedicated copying and graphic editors increased. Sales of ERP and data base management systems declined. 

Sales of communication, PC service and remote access products increased by 121 percent year-on-year. Sales of software development tools grew by 36 percent. Sales of the software for dedicated copying and recovery of information, as well as of virtualisation software, increased by 34 percent. Sales of graphic editors grew by 30 percent, sales of products to monitor IT infrastructure increased by 21 percent.
