Mail.ru Group to Merge Skillbox and GeekBrains into One Educational Holding

Russian tech giant Mail.ru Group plans to create Skillbox Limited holding based on two popular educational services, Skillbox and GeekBrains, led by Skillbox founders and venture investor Alexander Galitsky, founder fund of Almaz Capital Partners. Mail.ru Group will remain the controlling shareholder with a 50.06% stake.

The company plans to join financial resources, team, and management. The founders of Skillbox will continue to develop and manage the business, while the holding will be headed by Dmitry Krutov, co-founder and CEO of the service. Among the plans after the merger is the expansion of the product line.
