India and Russia are strengthening technological cooperation in the field of Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAV) and satellite technologies. As part of the joint Indo-Russia Innopraktika Technology Hub initiative, implemented with the participation of Innopraktika and CIRTC (with RUSSOFT involved in the establishment and activities of the center), agreements have been signed to establish a modern unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) and satellite technology laboratory in India.

The agreements were concluded with a number of academic and research organizations in India, including the Chhatrapati Shahu Ji Maharaj University (CSJMU) Foundation (Kanpur), the Kalam SPS Research Centre, as well as the Russian company Geoscan Group. Within the framework of the partnership, certification programmes in drone and satellite technologies will be launched.

The initiative is aimed at developing practical competencies in the field of unmanned systems and satellite technologies, as well as training specialized professionals from Russia and India.

According to Russia’s Ambassador to India, Denis Alipov, the event is an important milestone in bilateral cooperation. “The launch of certification courses in unmanned aerial vehicles and satellite technologies, as well as the establishment of a UAV laboratory on the CSJMU campus is, without exaggeration, a landmark step in the Russia–India technological partnership, being an integral part of the extensive bilateral agenda shaped, among other things, by the results of Russian President Vladimir Putin’s state visit to India in December 2025,” he said.

Debjit Chakraborty, Director of the Indo-Russia Technology Hub (a joint initiative of CIRTC and Innopraktika), noted the importance of developing practice-oriented technological projects between the two countries.
