BestDoctor Buys Insurance Company Reserve to Develop its Ecosystem

11 February 2022

BestDoctor medical service bought 100% of Alliance-Consulting, the owner of Reserve insurance company. Based on the new asset, the service plans to create its own Bestinsure insurance brand. The parties did not disclose the terms of the deal, but, according to experts, it could amount to $5 – 5.3 million (380-400 million rubles).

Having an insurance license will allow the startup to “test and launch insurance products that complement VMI to form an ecosystem of B2B and B2C medical services.” The service also plans to provide its license to insurtech startups in the Russian market.

In June 2021, BestDoctor raised $26 million from Winter Capital Partners and European funds. Then the co-founder of the company Mark Sanevich said that the company “starts to actively move towards creating a digital medical ecosystem and building a health management platform.”
