Speaking about the development of new software products, the premier stressed that a system of competence centers had been established, “with more than 500 leading Russian companies involved”.

Russian alternatives can almost fully replace foreign software, Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin assured, when speaking to the ‘Digital Almaty: Digital Partnership in a New Reality’ forum on Friday.

“For most foreign software, as much as 85% already, there are Russian alternatives,” he noted. “We have started adjusting them to the particular needs of business and manufacturing. We also support the creation of new software products,” the premier added.

Russia is ready to collaborate with EAEU partners and other friendly countries in the technological area, he noted. “We have something to offer,” Mishustin noted.

Speaking about the development of new software products, the premier stressed that a system of competence centers had been established, “with more than 500 leading Russian companies involved.” “Developers, managers, members of business circles and the authorities are united by the common goal of making sure of having in-demand and convenient software at enterprises that are not inferior to foreign ones,” he pointed out.

“Almost 200 initiatives have been selected” that are ready for being introduced and scaled up, “with over 30 to be implemented during this and and next year,” Mishustin said, adding that “business will bankroll most projects, with private investments exceeding 155 bln rubles ($2.2 bln).”

“The task of centers is to create not just an alternative to foreign analogues, but a competitive product that will be able to enter the international market in the future, which is why during the selection of projects the possibility of their rollout, export potential and readiness for sale in other countries was taken into account,” he stated.
