Russian tycoon’s fund buys into online simulators for doctors

02 March 2021

Winter Capital, a fund owned by the Russian billionaire Vladimir Potanin, has acquired 20% of DocClub, a young company that is developing online simulators for physicians, the Russian business daily Vedomosti reported.

Their new simulators can reportedly emulate situations from actual medical practice and offer trainees specific episodes for perusal and decision-making.

The deal’s value has yet to be announced, but market experts estimate it around $600,000 at a pre-money start-up valuation of approximately $3m.

A spokesperson for the fund said that investing in HealthTech was “one of Winter Capital’s key investment focuses.”
