7 Thousand km of Quantum Networks to be Stretched in Russia by the End of 2024

By the end of 2024, 7000 km of quantum networks will be built, In Russia, according to the official roadmap for quantum communications.

At the moment, in cooperation with Russian Railways and Rostelecom, such a network (about 700 km) has been built between Moscow and St. Petersburg. It also became known that NUST MISIS and MTUCI have completed testing of an interuniversity quantum network consisting of five nodes. At the same time, quantum networks operate in other scientific, financial and commercial institutions.

According to the roadmap, the funding for the program will exceed $140.8 million (10 billion rubles). from the federal budget. The amount of extra-budgetary funds will amount to $91.8 million (6.52 billion rubles).
