07 October 2021

In late September Embracer Group AB, a major Swedish developer and publisher of PC, console and mobile games for the global market, announced the full acquisition of Russian Bytex.

Founded in 2004 and based in Saransk (650 km east of Moscow), Bitex is a quality assurance (QA) studio focusing on games and B2B web portals. It employs around 240 people, including 190 engineers.

“Bytex offers full QA capabilities throughout the game development process across all platforms. The team has worked on many successful projects together with Saber including SnowRunner, WWE 2K Battlegrounds, NBA 2K Playgrounds 2 and World War Z,” notes Embracer in its press-release.

The acquisition was made through Embracer’s wholly-owned subsidiary Saber Interactive. The terms were not disclosed.

”We have worked with Bytex for many years and they’ve been a fantastic partner during our growth in the last 14 months. I’m thrilled they are now part of the Saber family, and hope they are a resource for the wider Embracer Group” stated Andrey Iones, COO and co-founder of Saber Interactive.
