RUSSOFT meeting with Association’s representative in Turkey

13 May 2022

On 11th May, 2022, the RUSSOFT companies took part in an online meeting with Ivan Starodubtsev, a representative of the interests of the Association and its members in Turkey.

The speaker said that: “Turkey claims to be the southern gateway of Russia: in the logistical aspect and in terms of doing business. In the last 2 months alone, about 100 companies with Russian capital have opened here.  <…> The overall goal is to replace all the Western products in the country. This is also the main window of opportunity for Russia: the latter goes to Turkey offering technology transfer, offering partnership, that is, creating some added value in the country. In my opinion, this is a very correct message.”

According to Starodubtsev, in connection with the adoption of the “Cyber Homeland” concept in Turkey, which implies, first of all, import substitution of all software and hardware for domestic ones, a number of structures have been created to serve it. The main of which is the office for digital transformation under the presidential administration. Also, software developments in the field of information security, artificial intelligence, smart cities, and financial markets were named as strategic areas of work within the framework of Cyber Homeland. There is a committee for each of the directions.

RUSSOFT has already established good relations with the digital transformation office, but with representatives of the listed committees, Russian companies wishing to work productively with Turks should themselves maintain effective communication.

It is also important to note that Turkey currently has good contact with the countries of Central Asia, the Middle East, and Africa, which makes the country, among other things, a kind of “gateway” for promotion to the aforementioned regions.

You can learn more about how a Russian company can enter the Turkish market, what costs are associated with this, and with which local structures RUSSOFT has already managed to agree on cooperation, from the video recording of the event.
