Within the framework of the event “Expanding Frontiers of Special & Privileged Strategic Partnership,” representatives of business, government structures, and the technology community discussed new areas of cooperation between India and Russia in high technologies, energy, industrial digitalization, and artificial intelligence. The event was organized by the Indo-Russian Technology Hub, created by CIRTC (the representative office of RUSSOFT in India) and Innopraktika.
Participants noted that the partnership between the two countries is entering a new stage of development — “India–Russia 2.0,” where technologies, resilient supply chains, and long-term economic cooperation will play a key role.
Former Minister of External Affairs of India and Member of Parliament Harsh Vardhan Shringla emphasized that Russian oil supplies ensured the stability of the Indian energy market amid global turbulence. According to him, Russia has been the largest supplier of oil to India since 2022, providing more than 30% of the country’s total crude oil imports.
Harsh Vardhan Shringla also noted that the next key areas of cooperation will include critical minerals, industrial mobility, AI systems for energy, semiconductors, industrial digitalization, and the development of telecommunications infrastructure.
Special attention was given to the commercialization of Russian technological solutions in the Indian market.
Debjit Chakraborty, CEO of the Indo Russia Technology Hub (a joint initiative of CIRTC and Innopraktika), noted that Russian developments in cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, and EdTech are moving from pilot projects to commercial implementation in India.
«Russian innovations in cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, and EdTech are now entering the stage of commercial deployment in India. Already 3–4 key projects are ready for launch, reflecting the growing demand for joint research, international innovation clusters, and technology commercialization mechanisms capable of benefiting both economies»
Participants of the event emphasized that cooperation between India and Russia is increasingly developing in high-tech sectors that will define the economic growth of both countries in the coming decades.
It should be noted that CIRTC was established with the participation of RUSSOFT in cooperation with Indian partners and today operates as the representative office of RUSSOFT in India.
